This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the most renowned brands in the UK and be part of it's in-house creative team.
We are seeking new creative talent, you will have good commercial experience of working on brands, either agency or in-house and predominantly have worked within packaging.
You have been instrumental in getting involved with brands and you will be able to get under the skin of Hotel Chocolat and not just design to a brief, but be able to input on the brand and how to move it forward.
You will be a concept driven designer who has the skill to create compelling and inventive solutions. With a natural flair for design you will also have the ability to bring those designs to life. It is essential you have excellent artwork skills and a sound knowledge of print.

Objectives:
Responsible for managing a specific category throughout the full design process life cycle.
Liaising confidently with internal customers to achieve on-brand innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities:
Working with buyers, senior designer and creative director to interpret and develop design briefs using innovative solutions to deliver within cost and time whilst ensuring suitability for all channels to market.
Presenting and confidently delivering ideas to the design and buying team.
Prioritising workload.
Ensuring that deadlines are met and critical paths adhered to.
Maintaining artwork standards within set procedures and studio framework.
Liaising and communicating effectively with suppliers.
Communicate with internal customers within the business unit.

Essential Knowledge:
Experience within FMCG markets – particularly packaging.
Advanced understanding of latest Adobe Creative Suite.
Image retouching and artwork production.
Working knowledge of studio photography and art direction.
Thorough understanding of current print industry standards and techniques.
Cardboard engineering.
Experience in press passing and post production problem solving.
Understanding and implementing brand guidelines.

Desired Abilities:
Experience within the luxury goods retail sector particularly fashion and cosmetics.

In the first instance, this is a 6 month contract.
Based: Royston, Herts.
Hours: Full time 40 hours per week
