Before I started at Hotel Chocolat I was working in hospitality doing work which was hard and challenging but not mentally stimulating. So I wanted a change and came across the opportunity to be Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of a chocolate company called Hotel Chocolat.

Having moved sector I was slightly worried about my lack of PA experience but luckily neither party was looking for a conventional PA to fill the role, more someone who was keen to learn and who didn’t want to get bored!

That was two years ago and it was the best move I could have made – I never know what I will be doing from month to month or day to day. When I started I was tasked with researching cocoa growing techniques and log cabins in St Lucia. Now I am developing chocolate recipes, designing new products and about to embark on the Diploma in Chocolate.
