Head of Retail

Reporting to: Operations Director

Responsible for: 27 stores nationwide; VM Coordinator

Salary: commensurate with experience/responsibility

Key Objectives

Lead Hotel Chocolat Retail Sales Channel with accountability for all aspects of performance across the estate.

Seek out and implement commercial opportunities to enable the growth of the brand and maximise business opportunities within retail and cross channel.

Key Tasks

Drive product development and instore merchandising in order to maximise all sales opportunities.

Deep analysis of store performance data, provide solutions in cases of poor performance.

Drive availability instore with clear focus on transparency and accessibility of information, initiating action where availability issues are identified.

Work to develop retail allocation to ensure that all sales are maximised and wastage kept to a minimum.

Set and manage retail sales budgets to give accurate reflection and forecast of performance.

Manage and deliver in all areas of cost to sales. Deliver an exceptional instore experience both through the visual impact and face-to-face contact.

Raise the capability of the instore management team through the development of people and ongoing coaching and training.

Manage and take responsibility for the recruitment of all retail team members.

Play a key role in ensuring the bottom line performance of each retail site, continuously reviewing existing sites and potential site opportunities.

Liase with head of other sales channels to ensure that opportunities across the business are maximised .
