Spicy Barbeque & Dark Chocolate Dip

Ingredients

  • ½ tbsp Pure cocoa bean shavings

  • 1 tbsp Honey

  • 1 large tbsp of Hotel Chocolat Spiced Savoury Chocolate Sauce

  • 1 Small Onion, finely chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 Red Chilli, finely chopped

  • 55g Dark Brown Sugar

  • 50ml Dark Soy Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Tomato Puree

  • 10ml Water

  • Salt, Pepper

Method
  1. Fry the onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat until golden brown. Add the chopped chilli, honey and sugar and mix together.

  2. Add the soy sauce, Spiced Savoury Chocolate sauce and Tomato Puree. Depending on the consistency of the BBQ Sauce you may want to add a small amount of water to allow the sauce to reduce slightly.

  3. Bring to the Boil and simmer for a few minutes allowing the flavours to mingle. Add the ½ tbsp of Cocoa Shavings, stir and serve. Can be used as a dip or to coat spare ribs, chicken or sausages.
